Yosemite Engagement

Yosemite National Park, holy moly! Have you ever been this close to heaven? because thats what it feels like the second you drive through that first tunnel view.

Luckily we were able to squeeze in two Yosemite weekend trips during October which is our most busiest month. The first trip was actually the first time ever in Yosemite for both Justin and I. Yes, I know, mind blowing right? It was Incredible to say the least. Every square inch of this place was just absolutely jaw-dropping. We weren’t there for long but we were able to spend some time wandering through the Valley and checking out some fun day hikes.

We originally went down there because Justin was lucky enough to score a sweet filming gig with one of his favorite climbers, Mark and Janelle Smiley. While Justin was climbing and shooting with the Smiley’s, I was hiking and driving all throughout the valley finding good photo inspiration. I spent sunrise at Glacier Point and watched the sun slowly rise over half dome, which at the moment felt like the closest I’ve ever been to heaven. The crowds slowly started to fall in so I packed up and made my way over to Taft Point. Just beyond the granite fissures, the world ends, or so it seemed. The cliff edge is the beginning of a sheer 3,000 foot drop to the valley floor below. The perspective is both stunning and dizzying. Its hard to believe, but the viewpoint makes El Capitan look almost small. Which is crazy! But thats why its such a sought after photo location. Spent a couple hours at Taft Point watching people slackline a gnarly 960 foot line of pure craziness, it was epic! Then made my way back down to the Valley floor to meet back up with Justin and was ready for our pizza date. The next night we wandered around finding the perfect spot to watch sunset and boy did we ever. Like I said before though every square inch of this place is pretty amazing. So finding the perfect spot isn’t very hard in a place like Yosemite.

Heres a couple photos from our first trip!

How do you beat these views? Oh ya, you add in your best friends who are madly in love!

Our first trip was just a teaser for us but we knew that Yosemite was going to be place for us to come back and do some serious exploring and dirt bagging. However the next trip planned was nothing short of another teaser but this time was for business. Luckily our business is pleasure for us so it was still just as enjoyable. We knew exactly where we were going to shoot, at which times and what angles. We were pumped to get our first Yosemite engagement shoot. It made it even more special that we were shooting Justins really good friends, Richard and Kate. It actually ended up to be Richard and Kates first time visiting Yosemite. So their stoke was REAL! Which made for even better photos. It was good times followed with loads of smiles, laughter, beer and pizza. How could it get any better?

This adventure engagement shoot was by far one of the most incredible engagements to do for us. Pretty much words can’t even describe or justify these photos or the love shared by these two, just see for yourself.
