Autumn is Officially Here!
Thats right, Fall is in full effect here in Oregon, and although its not as crazy as some places on the East Coast, it sure is gorgeous. Alexis and I just took a couple clients up North on a little adventure engagement session and we had an amazing time strolling through the fall foliage in search of serenity… And maybe a waterfall or two. The first day we dropped down into Abiqua Falls. It was both mine and Alexis first time there and man, we were blown away. It can get rather congested down there on those backroads, especially if someone doesn’t have four wheel drive and goes to far. A vehicle with high clearance is highly recommended. If taking a car, its best to just stay at the top and follow the road down on foot. Also, there is no signage, since its on private property, and it may require a keen sense of direction and route finding skills, if there isn’t a crowd there. I used the alltrails app and found it just fine. Below are some pictures of Abiqua Falls in the fall. Flow was meager, but its fall, so that is expected.
After we were done shooting at Abiqua, we jammed out of there as it got dark and headed to Silver Falls State Park to camp for the night. We made the mistake of not calling ahead or booking a site and showed up to a full campground! Someone had a wedding there at the state park and it was by the grace of god that we got to stay the night. Every damn spot in the whole entire place was marked with these little red “reserved” signs. Some places were still up partying, others not so much. We snuck into one of the empty reserved spots since it was late and we figured the wedding party just booked the whole thing and the spot was open so late. The Park Ranger said it would be fine as long as no one came. No one did that night and we got lucky. The next day we hiked to a few of the falls before taking off back home. Check out these fall vibes people, they are epic! Grab a sweater while your at it.
